United Airlines' first Airbus A321XLR is scheduled to begin domestic flights in September 2026 before launching international operations on December 1, 2026, with initial routes connecting Washington Dulles to Amsterdam and Dublin.
The carrier plans to add 10 destinations across Europe and Asia for summer 2027. Eight of these destinations, including Luxembourg, Toulouse, Marseille, Ibiza, and Valencia, currently have no competing nonstop service from any other United States airline.
United Airlines is configuring the single-aisle aircraft with 32 premium seats, featuring 20 Polaris suites with privacy doors and 12 Premium Plus seats. Most of the new European services will operate out of the airline's hub at Newark, supported by Washington Dulles.
