Australian national Thomas Bingham has pleaded guilty in court to assaulting a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officer at Los Angeles International Airport . The guilty plea stems from an incident inside the airport terminal during which Bingham grabbed a TSA security officer in connection with a dispute over a lost bag.
Following his admission of guilt, Bingham is scheduled to be formally sentenced next month. For the offense of assaulting an officer at the airport, he faces a maximum potential penalty of up to eight years in prison under federal sentencing guidelines.
