Futian Motor chairman Zhang Jin-feng said the company has added one high-efficiency drive motor production line at its Tonglu plant in Miaoli, with annual capacity expected to increase from 100,000 to 400,000 units. The capacity has been booked by a European drone customer for commercial and agricultural low-altitude vehicle applications.
Zhang noted that Futian Motor's low-altitude vehicle motor and power system customers are primarily U.S. and European manufacturers. Regarding U.S. tariffs on imported drones and components, he said the impact is relatively favorable for Futian Motor, as Taiwanese manufacturers can benefit from order redirection and non-red supply chain effects.
Futian Motor previously established a miniaturization business unit focused on high-precision, lightweight motor products for drones, low-orbit satellites, robot dogs and other applications. Zhang said the unit currently accounts for about 3% to 5% of revenue, projected to exceed 10% by 2027.
