A burst water main has submerged roads surrounding the central terminals at London Heathrow Airport, causing road access disruptions across the immediate area. The flooding stranded passengers and airport staff who were attempting to travel through the affected terminal roads.
The road closure directly affected access to terminals utilized by United, American, and Delta. Vehicle traffic toward these central facilities was cut off as water covered the key roadway routes.
According to Simple Flying, the submerged roads left travelers and workers unable to enter or exit the terminal area by vehicle while road access to the United, American, and Delta terminals remained shut.
