Taiwan's Legislative Yuan passed a six-year, NT$44.2 billion budget for the "Unmanned Vehicle Industry Development Coordination Program" on August 14, 2026. In response, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) Chairman Huang Chih-fang stated on August 15 that the approved budget provides a significant boost, and TAITRA will actively assist domestic drone operators in expanding into global markets.
According to Huang, Taiwan possesses strong foundations in components like ICT, chip design, electronic controls, motors, and batteries. To facilitate overseas promotion, next year's Taipei Aerospace & Defense Technology Exhibition will feature a drone pavilion, and a defense industry forum focusing on drones will be held this October to promote international exchange.
