Taiwan's legislature passed the FY2026 central government budget on August 14. The Ministry of Economic Affairs said approximately TWD 8 billion for the Unmanned Vehicle Industry Development Integrated Program was fully approved.
The ministry said the Executive Yuan approved the six-year program covering 2025 to 2030 with total funding of approximately TWD 44.2 billion, targeting three policy goals: industrial development, defence self-sufficiency, and democratic supply chains.
In central Taiwan, R&D subsidies have been provided to Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation, Ray-Tech, Ten-Wu, and Chia Ling, with plans to build UAV EMC and comprehensive testing laboratories in Taichung. The CAA will also add a UAV testing site at Taichung Guanghua Industrial High School.
The ministry said it will continue promoting the UAV industry toward the goal of exceeding TWD 40 billion in production value by 2030, positioning Taiwan as the Asia-Pacific center of the democratic UAV supply chain.
