China Airlines has announced a fee waiver for ticket changes and refunds following heavy rainfall in Japan's Chiba Prefecture and the broader Tokyo area. The measure applies to passengers holding tickets departing from Tokyo's Narita Airport or Haneda Airport on August 13 and August 14, 2026.
According to the carrier, eligible passengers who rebook their flights to on or before September 4, 2026, or opt for a full refund, will be exempt from handling fees and no-show penalties.
China Airlines stated that it is closely monitoring weather conditions in Tokyo and maintaining close contact with local airport authorities. Passengers are advised to contact their issuing travel agency, customer service centers, or local branch offices for itinerary adjustments, and to check flight updates via the airline's website, mobile app, or SMS notifications.
