On August 13, 2026, Boeing announced that it had recruited Celso Ferrer, CEO of Brazilian low-cost airline GOL Linhas Aéreas, as its new president for Latin America and the Caribbean. Ferrer is due to join Boeing on September 4, 2026, and will be responsible for strengthening Boeing's operations, strategy, and presence across the region.

Ferrer has served as CEO of GOL Linhas Aéreas since 2022, having joined the carrier in 2004 as an intern. During his tenure he oversaw a restructuring of the company and its integration with Abra Group. He previously held the roles of Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Planning at the airline.

Ferrer will step down from GOL on August 31, 2026. GOL named André Fehlauer as its new CEO, effective September 2026. Fehlauer is returning to GOL after previously spending eight years with the airline's Smiles loyalty business in Argentina and Brazil. He most recently served as CEO of Livelo, a Brazilian loyalty program.

Additionally, Albert Perez, currently GOL's Chief Commercial Officer, will take on expanded responsibilities as president of GOL Linhas Aéreas. Perez joined GOL in early 2024 after more than two decades in aviation, including leadership roles at Avianca, JetSMART, and Vueling. GOL said he has helped improve the airline's operational performance.

Abra Group CEO Adrian Neuhauser said Fehlauer's previous experience with GOL and Perez's operational background would support the airline's next phase of growth. GOL is part of Abra Group, which also owns Avianca and holds a strategic investment in Wamos Air, as well as convertible debt representing a minority interest in Sky Airline.
