EVA Air will launch direct flights between Taoyuan and Delhi, India, starting December 1, operating five weekly flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays using Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The carrier will become the only Taiwan-based airline currently offering direct service to India, which had been suspended since 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Taiwan representative to India Chen Mu-min met with EVA Air Delhi airport manager Liu Jing-jia on August 13 to review preparation progress for the new route. According to Chen, the direct route will reduce travel time between Taoyuan and Delhi to six hours, facilitating bilateral business, tourism, and official exchanges.
