Spanish flag carrier Iberia is operating a specially routed Airbus A321XLR aircraft at an altitude of 33,000 feet to provide a livestream of today's total solar eclipse.

According to coverage by Simple Flying, the airline has configured the A321XLR flight path specifically over Palencia to capture and broadcast the total eclipse event from high altitude.

To transmit the video stream live from 33,000 feet during the flight operation, the Airbus A321XLR is equipped with ultra-fast Starlink satellite internet connectivity.

The unique flight operation allows viewers to follow the solar eclipse in real time through Iberia's broadcast stream, powered by Starlink technology over Palencia.
