Etihad Airways has launched its inaugural service to Tashkent International Airport (TAS) from Zayed International Airport (AUH (AUH)) in Abu Dhabi, marking the UAE carrier's first route to Uzbekistan. The sold-out inaugural flight was operated using an Airbus A320 aircraft.
The daily nonstop service operates under flight numbers EY830 and EY831, departing Abu Dhabi in the evening and Tashkent in the early morning. The launch builds on a codeshare agreement with Uzbekistan Airways, providing passengers with connections beyond Tashkent to eight domestic destinations in Uzbekistan.
Frank Meyer, Chief Digital Officer of Etihad Airways, called the route a milestone for the airline's expansion, highlighting Uzbekistan as one of Central Asia's fastest-growing markets driven by tourism and economic developments.
