A military Apache helicopter flew to Taiwan's Coast Guard Administration (CGA) at 10:00 a.m. on August 10, 2026, to conduct a dispersed deployment drill as part of the Han Kuang 42 live-fire exercise. The helicopter departed at 11:30 a.m. after completing its landing and takeoff smoothly.
CGA Director-General Chang Chung-long inspected the joint drill on site. According to the administration, the exercise was designed to deepen tactical coordination and emergency response between coast guard units and the armed forces.
The live-fire portion of Han Kuang 42 runs from August 5 to August 14 for 10 days and 9 nights, reaching its sixth day on August 10. Regional CGA branches also executed defensive tasks, including blockhouse defense, flank guarding, and command post establishment.
