Japan Airlines (JAL) has extended its partnership with Malaysia Airlines to support regional tourism in Japan. Centered on Malaysia Airlines' new Fukuoka-Kuala Lumpur service launching September 2, 2026, JAL began selling tickets for the codeshare route on August 7, 2026, under flight numbers JL7098 and JL7099.
As part of the collaboration, Malaysia Airlines will also place its flight code on JAL-operated domestic flights connecting to and from Fukuoka Airport. Additionally, JAL is launching a Double Miles Campaign for loyalty members traveling on the route between September 2, 2026, and March 31, 2027. All operations remain subject to government approval.
