Changi Airport Group (CAG) and ground handling partner SATS announced on August 4, 2026, the rollout of autonomous wheelchairs at Changi Airport. The self-driving wheelchairs allow passengers with reduced mobility to navigate transit areas with greater independence, reducing the need for one-on-one assistance from ground staff.

The program is part of SATS' "Hub Handler of the Future" initiative and is expected to manage approximately 10% of daily mobility assistance needs at Changi once fully deployed. Equipped with sensors and seatbelt monitoring, the technology was first trialed in March 2025 and has already served more than 13,000 passengers.
