According to Simple Flying, Airbus and Qantas have completed test flights using the new Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft. Flight records show that the aircraft logged a total of 43 hours across two test flights. As part of the test campaign, one of the test flights departed from Airbus's facilities at Toulouse on July 23.

The long-range A350-1000ULR variant is currently being developed with the expectation that it will eventually be deployed on ultra-long-haul routes. The aircraft is slated to be used to link eastern Australia with major international destinations, specifically Europe and New York.
