Taiwan High Speed Rail hosted a welcome dinner in Fukuoka, Japan, on July 29, 2026, to mark the factory rollout of its new N700ST trains. The ceremony was presided over by Taiwan High Speed Rail Chairman Shi Che, with Minister of Transportation and Communications Chen Shih-kai attending on behalf of the high-speed rail operator's largest shareholder.

The event brought together approximately 300 guests from Taiwanese and Japanese political and industrial sectors, including Representative to Japan Lee I-yang, lawmakers from both countries, JR Central Chairman Shin Kaneko, and Hitachi Rail CEO Giuseppe Marino. During the event, Shi Che announced that the board of directors of Taiwan High Speed Rail decided to donate 20 million yen for Kumamoto earthquake relief effort.
