Taiwan's Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) announced on July 29, 2026, that the Executive Yuan has approved an adjustment to increase the hazardous duty allowance for airport firefighting personnel, taking effect on August 1.
According to the CAA, its 16 administered airports will be classified into two tiers for the allowance scheme. Firefighters at Tier 1 airports will receive a monthly allowance of NT$9,700, while those at Tier 2 airports will receive NT$7,760 per month.
The agency stated that dedicated firefighting staff are deployed at airports across Taiwan in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards to maintain flight safety and operational preparedness.
