Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense released its daily report on August 20, 2026, stating that it tracked seven PLA aircraft, eight PLA naval vessels, and six official ships in the air and maritime areas surrounding Taiwan between 6:00 a.m. on August 19 and 6:00 a.m. on August 20.
The defense ministry specified that among the seven PLA aircraft detected, five sorties entered Taiwan's northern, southwestern, and eastern airspace, continuing their operations near the Taiwan Strait.
In response to these military activities, Taiwan's armed forces dispatched mission aircraft and naval vessels while activating land-based missile systems to closely monitor and handle the situation.
