SWISS flight LX16 diverted to Bangor International Airport at about 12:14 p.m. EDT on July 27 after smoke was reported in the business-class cabin. The Airbus A330 landed safely, and firefighters found no signs of fire or heat. SWISS said all 208 passengers and crew were safe. The FAA’s preliminary statement separately said the crew had reported a cockpit fire, a description that remains subject to change and differs from the airline’s account.
